The Chatham Whales & Sharks have been installed, and will be on display in downtown Chatham through mid-August. Around 70 Chatham businesses sponsor an artist, who is given a 5' wooden whale to transform into a one-of-a-kind work of art. They are up for auction on Bidding for Good, where 50% of the proceeds goes toward various charitable causes within the town, and the other 50% to the artist for their work. 

I chose this print, titled “Sea, Sand & The Sunrise” for this year. The print is dye-sublimated onto aluminum and has a glossy finish; it is meant to stand up to the elements and its color and shine will last for years and years to come. The back is painted and sealed in a matching blue, complete with a title and signature plate.
